STEVENSVILLE, Md. – PEAKE has volunteered for The Maryland Civic Guard, the State’s newest disaster response initiative. This initiative engages private organizations for their assistance in disaster recovery efforts.
The Maryland Civic Guard will help relieve emergency responders throughout recovery efforts. The guard will be charged with non-life-threatening tasks, which allows for officials to focus on emergency needs. Private organizations’ time and resource donation will be a critical aspect of statewide response and recovery efforts.
PEAKE will provide company resources and man power to The Maryland Civic Guard in the event of an emergency where short-term or long-term response is needed. PEAKE’s expertise in tactical communications will provide the State with comprehensive communications interoperability throughout an incident lifecycle.
Several of PEAKE’s demonstration products will be available for use by the Maryland Civic Guard including PEAKE Tactical Incident Communication System (TICS®), Tactical Communication Unit (TCOMMTM), and video surveillance solution AgileMesh. PEAKE will also donate satellite time and bandwidth throughout any major incident providing the guard with PEAKE Tactical-IP™ satellite service.
The Maryland Civic Guard is an effort initiated by the Maryland Emergency Management Agency (MEMA). In conjunction with the University Of Maryland Center for Health and Homeland Security, MEMA also coordinates a Regional Catastrophic Preparedness Grant program to support regional emergency planning initiative’s in the mid-Atlantic.
