On Giving Tuesday, a global day for ‘giving back’, PEAKE proudly donated funds to Team Rubicon in support of their mission to “unite the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams.”

Team Rubicon brings together two groups close to the heart of PEAKE; military veterans and first responders.  Team Rubicon seeks to provide our veterans with three things they lose after leaving the military: a purpose, gained through disaster relief; community, built by serving with others; and self-worth, from recognizing the impact one individual can make.

Team Rubicon’s primary mission is to provide disaster relief between the moment a disaster happens and the point at which conventional aid organizations respond.  Their capabilities and services include:

  • Incident Management
  • Damage and Impact Assessment
  • Disater Mapping and Work-Order Management
  • Debris Management
  • Hazard Mitigation
  • Emergent Home Repair
  • Volunteer Management
  • Medical

Recently Team Rubicon has sent teams to respond to the following: Monroe LA tornado, the search for missing person in Charlottesville, VA, flooding in Mingo County WV, Hurricane Iselle in Hawaii, and other Humanitarian responses around the world.

Team Rubicon also provides training to its team members in Incident Management, Tools/Tactics/Techniques, and Leadership.
